Frequently asked questions
Is the quote really free?
Yes. You tell us about the conservatory, it gets priced properly, and you decide in your own time. No charge and no pressure.
How quickly will I hear back?
Fast. The more detail you give in the form (property type, conservatory style, the roof you have now, photos if you have them), the faster and more accurate the quote.
How much does a conservatory roof replacement cost in Teesside?
Polycarbonate replacement runs £3,000 to £6,500, glass roofs £6,000 to £12,000, tiled solid roofs £8,000 to £14,000 and warm roof conversions £9,000 to £15,000. Repairs start around £250.
Can you put a solid roof on any conservatory?
Almost any. Modern lightweight tiled systems weigh less than the glass they replace, and the frames and ring beam are surveyed before pricing. Where reinforcement is needed it is itemised in the quote, not discovered mid-job.
Do I need planning permission?
Almost never for a roof replacement on an existing conservatory. Solid roofs do usually need building regulations approval, which a proper quote includes, certificate and all. Listed buildings and conservation areas are the exceptions to check.
How long does the work take?
Polycarbonate and glass roof swaps typically take 1 to 3 days, tiled solid roofs 3 to 5 days including plastering, and warm roof conversions 4 to 6 days. The conservatory stays weather-tight throughout.
Will a solid roof make the room dark?
Roof windows or glazed panels can be built into a solid roof, the internal ceiling is usually white, and the walls are mostly glass anyway. Most owners find the room more pleasant in use, not darker.
My roof only leaks in one place. Do I need a new roof?
Probably not. A single fault in an otherwise sound roof is a repair from around £250. Whole-roof failure in panels and seals, or a roof past twenty years old with multiple faults, is replacement territory, and an honest assessment tells you which you have.
Which areas do you cover?
All TS postcodes: Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Billingham, Thornaby, Redcar, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Hartlepool, Yarm, Ingleby Barwick and everywhere between, TS1 through TS27.
Will I be pressured to buy?
No. You get a written quote and you decide. One follow-up call at most, then the ball is in your court.
